Johnson, O'Neill named Huskies Athletes of the Week: Jan. 29 - Feb. 4, 2024

Men's hockey forward Bradey Johnson and women's hockey forward Aimee O'Neill have been named Huskies Athletes of the Week, sponsored by Freeman's Little New York Halifax, for the week ending February 4, 2024.

Bradey Johnson, a third year forward from Lindsay, ON, is the Huskies male athlete of the week for the week of Jan. 29 - Feb. 4, 2024.

Over a pair of games last week, Johnson scored two goals, recording seven shots on goal, and playing a prominent role on the Huskies penalty kill.

In Wednesday's 4-3 overtime win over the Acadia Axemen, Johnson scored the Huskies third goal of the night, and recorded three shots on goal.

In Friday's 3-2 loss to the UPEI Panthers, Johnson scored the Huskies first goal, along with three shots on goal.

For the season, Johnson is fifth in the Huskies in scoring with 18 points (four goals and 14 assists). The Huskies rank third in the AUS with a 14-13-1-0 record, and will wrap up the regular season this weekend as they host the STFX X-Men on Friday and visit the Dalhousie Tigers on Saturday, with both games scheduled to drop the puck at 7 p.m.

Aimee O'Neill, a fourth year forward from Glace Bay, NS, is the Huskies female athlete of the week for the week of Jan. 29 - Feb. 4, 2024.

Over a pair of games last week, O'Neill scored two goals, posted a +2 plus/minus, recorded three shots on goal, and played a prominent role on the Huskies penalty kill.

In Friday's 2-1 loss the the UNB REDS, O'Neill scored the Huskies lone goal, and was a +1 with three shots on goal.

In Saturday's 3-1 win over the St. Thomas Tommies, O'Neill scored an empty net goal and was a +1 with one shot on goal.

For the season, O'Neill has recorded 11 points (four goals and seven assists). The Huskies rank third in the AUS with a 15-7-1-3 record, and will wrap up the regular season this weekend as they visit the STFX X-Women on Friday and host the Mount Allison Mounties on Saturday, with both games scheduled to drop the puck at 7 p.m.
