Saint Mary’s downs Queen’s 89-86 in OT

Theon Reefer had 26 points in the Saint Mary's Huskies the OT win over the Queen's Gaels in the third game of the 25th annual Rod and Joan Shoveller Memorial Basketball Tournament at Dalplex.

The Huskies led by as many as 13 points in the fourth quarter, but a solid effort from Queen's and a buzzer-beating jumper from Russell Winters pushed the game into overtime.

Marquis Clayton had 16 points and seven rebounds, while Brian Rouse added 13 points and nine rebounds of his own for the Huskies.

Sukhpreet Singh had a game-high 30 points for Queen's as well as eight assists and six rebounds. Tanner Graham and Winters had 12 and 11 points, respectively,

With the win, Saint Mary's moves on to face the host Tigers in the second semifinal at 8pm on Friday night. Queen's will face Mount Royal in the consolation round at 3pm in the afternoon.
