Huskies double Panthers 4-2

(Charlottetown, PE) – Player of the game Steven MacAulay had a goal and an assist to lead the Saint Mary's Huskies to a 4-2 road victory over the UPEI Panthers in front of 793 fans at MacLauchlan Arena.

 

 

Saint Mary's Bradley Greene opened the scoring 1:11 into the game, assisted by MacAulay and Mitchell Maynard.  Panther forward Sam Aulie responded a few minutes later at the 15:44 minute mark from Casey Babineau and Nick Czinder.  The first period ended with Saint Mary's leading 2-1 on a goal by Anthony Repaci from Alex Cord and Jamie Doornbosch.

 

 

UPEI's 2nd year forward Darcy Ashley scored on the man advantage at the 4:07 mark of the second period to tie the game with Marcus Power assisting.

 

 

Midway through the third period Stephen MacAulay from Justin Weller scored the game winner from the high slot to put the Huskies ahead 3-2.  A few minutes later at the 6:59 mark Calder Brooks was set up by Gerard Grant on the power play for the 4-2 final score.

 

 

Mark Terriault made 23 saves for the win, while Mavric Parks made 26 saves in the loss.

 

 

The Panthers return to action this tomorrow (Saturday), October 31 when they host Acadia game time 7:00 pm.

 

The Huskies next game is also tomorrow (Saturday), when they travel to Fredericton to face the UNB Reds, puck drop is 7:00 pm.
