Huskies Track & Field post great results at Athletics NS Last Chance Meet

In the last competition before the Holiday break, the Huskies had an excellent showing at the Athletics NS Last Chance Meet this past weekend, hosted at the Canada Games Centre.

Kicking things off Saturday morning was third-year athlete Dante Isadore winning the men's long jump with a mark of 6.65m. On the women's side, rookie Raeden Black placed 2nd with a jump of 5.02m. Isadore also placed 2nd in his 300m debut, and Black placed 3rd in the 60m hurdles. Over at the high jump mat, Eric Wall tied for 1st place with a jump of 1.90m, a new season's best. 

On the track, Jaiden Williams took home two new PB's, with a 2nd place finish in the 60m (7.01) and 3rd in the 300m (37.87). Mackenzie Roach also scored a huge PB in the women's 300m, crossing the line in 41.64 seconds for 2nd place, and also placed 3rd in the 60m.

Leading the list of personal bests on the day was Tristan Sutherland in the 60m hurdles, shaving 2 seconds off his previous mark to score a 9.88. Other PB's included Tayah Remington (8.47), Penelope Lightbourn (8.49), Lila Gechtman (8.55), and Lori Marsman (8.57) in the women's 60m; Chad Smith (7.24), Jonah Bucci (7.55), Noah Martin (7.86), Owen Nix (8.21), and Eric Wall (7.74) in the men's 60m; Lightbourn (47.43) and Marsman (47.76) in the women's 300m; Caelen Murphy (38.88), Noah Martin (40.47), D'Andre Farrell (40.97), and Smith (37.90) in the men's 300m; Eli Ford in the men's 1000m (2:48.89); and Jacqueline Moore (5:20.84) and Ashley Brady (5:23.50) in the women's 1500m.

After the winter break, the Huskies are back in action on January 13th at the Université de Moncton as the team competes in the Moncton Open.
