McMillan shoots her way into Huskies, AUS record books

Saint Mary's guard Alaina McMillan ended the regular season with a 24-point night including 6/7 on three-point field goals in the Huskies 91-64 win over the St. FX X-Women on Saturday, Feb. 18.

The six three-pointers brought McMillan to 57 made three-point field goals this season, leading Atlantic University Sport. McMillan's 57 threes also breaks the Huskies women's basketball single-season record, passing former teammate Kendra MacKinnon's 56 3FGM in 2019-20, and setting the third highest total in Atlantic University Sport single-season history, only trailing former Cape Breton Caper Kelsey Hodgson (60 3FGM in 2008-09) and Acadia Axewomen Haley McDonald (58 3FGM in 2017-18).

With one year of eligibility remaining, McMillan is now fourth all-time in AUS history in three-pointers made:

  1. Jadranka Crnogorac, Saint Mary's (1993-98) 226 3FGM in 100 games played
  2. Haley McDonald, Acadia (2016-20, 22-23) 223 3FGM in 99 games played
  3. Kelsey Hodgson, Cape Breton (2005-10) 163 3FGM in 100 games played
  4. Alaina McMillan, Saint Mary's (2018-23) 162 3FGM in 76 games played

The fourth year point guard out of Brantford, Ontario passed the 1000 regular season career points mark earlier this season, and has now moved into fourth place all-time in Huskies regular season career scoring (1116 points in 76 GP).
