MONCTON – Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (1-1-0) were blanked 2-0 by the Saint Mary's University Huskies (2-0-0), on Sunday, in an Atlantic University Sport women's hockey game at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena.
The Denis Ross troupe suffered a first shutout and loss of the season following five preseason games and the first AUS regular season game, last Friday.
Brooke Murphy (Siobhan Birch), at 8:01 of the middle period and Subway player of the game, Siobhan Birch (Kaitlin Howarth), at 3:07 of the third, were the marksmen for the visitors.
Rebecca Clarke registered 15 saves for the Huskies shutout. Gabrielle Forget offered two goals on 24 shots, in a losing cause. Siobhan Birch received Subway Player of the Game honours.
Dalhousie University Tigers will visit the Aigles Bleues, Friday evening at 7p.m. at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena.
