Athletes of the Week, presented by Freeman's

Laura Polak, a 5th year, women's hockey and Andrew Peverill, 1st year, Track & Field, have been named the Freeman's Athletes of the Week.  Both Laura and Andrew are from Bedford, NS.  

In game one of the Huskies semi-final series vs STU, Polak had a goal and an assist and was named Subway Player of the Game.  In game two she assisted on the winning goal, to win the series 2-0. 

Laura finished third in team scoring to end the regular season with 22 points.  The Huskies will now face the StFX X-Women in the AUS final series which starts Friday night in Antigonish.  Game 2 of the series is set for Sunday, March 4 at Alumni Arena. 

Andrew Peverill, was named AUS Rookie of the Year at the recent Track & Field Championships.  He captured gold in the 1500 meters and was also a member of the 4 x 800 first place relay team.  Andrew will represent SMU at the upcoming U Sport National Championships hosted by University of Windsor.
