“Hatt” trick powers Huskies to 4-2 win over Mounties
SACKVILLE, NB - Saint Mary's Huskies forward Miranda Hatt scored three goals and added an assist in a 4-2 win over the Mount Allison Mounties on Friday night at the Tantramar Veterans Memorial Civic Centre in Sackville, N.B.
The visitors struck first on the power play as 5th year forward Miranda Hatt (Regina, SK) took advantage of the Mounties being down a player to put the Huskies up 1-0 at 12:48 in the first period.

Before the period was out however the Mounties were able to even the tally as Tallon Stephenson (Lloydminster, AB) was able to find the back of the net on the power play. The first period would end with both teams tied at 1 apiece.
Though the Mounties held a 5-on-3 early in the 2nd period, they were unable to come up with a goal as Miranda Hatt doubled her goal tally for the night shortly after penalties ended to put the visitors up 2-1.

Miranda completed her "Hatt Trick" later in the period while on the power play again, as the Huskies doubled their lead to go up 3-1 midway through the second.

Reese Chuback (Headingley, MB) would pull a goal back for the Mounties with 32 seconds left in the period as the teams began the third period with the Huskies holding a 3-2 lead.
Ashley Penney (Lawrencetown, NS) put the game away for the Huskies as her goal midway through the 3rd period, again on the power play, made the score 4-2, the score which would remain for the rest of the game.

Miranda Hatt received AUS Player of the Game honours for her 3-goal performance.
Saint Mary's (4-2-1) are back on the ice Friday, November 3rd at 7:00pm as they travel to Antigonish to take on StFX. Mount Allison (0-5-1) also play their next game on the road at StFX, on Sunday, October 29th. Puck drop in that one is set for 3:00pm.
