Peverill runs personal best at National Cross Country Championships

(Kingston, ON), On Saturday at Fort Henry National Historic Site in Kingston Ontario, Queens hosted the USports Cross Country National Championships. 

 

The Huskies were represented by three athletes at the championships. First over the finish line for the Huskies was Andrew Peverill who placed 19th in the men's 10K race. Peverill strategically placed himself back behind the lead pack and worked his way up over the 10-kilometre distance. Peverill finished the race with a new personal best time of 31:29 and was only five spots out of an All-Canadian position. Joseph Stewart also ran for the Huskies, finishing 135th in a time of 35:24.

 

Bhreagh Burke was the lone female representing SMU at the championships. Burke consistently ran even lap splits to finish 106th in a new personal best of 31:40 over the 8-kilometre distance.
