Peverill, McGarvey, Scott post solid results at RSEQ/AUS Interlock Meet

QUEBEC CITY, QC - On Saturday, three Huskies cross country runners represented the maroon and white on the Plains of Abraham in Quebec City for the RSEQ/AUS Interlock Meet. With the temperature hovering above freezing with the wind chill, it surely felt like the championship racing conditions known to occur in November, but not so much in early October.

Andrew Peverill (Lower Sackville, NS) quickly jumped out into the lead pack with a number of other athletes vying for podium positions. As the race continued on over its four laps of the 2km loop, each time climbing the steep hill to the Martello tower, the lead pack dwindled.

Peverill would go on to finish 4th overall in a time of 24:56 for the 8km distance. Rory McGarvey (Belleville, ON) and Teagan Scott (Barrington, NS) would run as a tight pack most of the race, working their way through the field, and finishing with two of their best results of their careers so far. McGarvey (27th) would finish in a time of 26:01, with Scott (31st) close behind in a time of 26:11.

Next up will see both the full men's and women's squads in action at the AUS Championships on October 29th, hosted by UPEI.
