
Huskies announce commitment of Frances MacLeod for 2025-26 season
Saint Mary's track & field / cross country head coach Kevin Heisler is pleased to announce the commitment of runner Frances MacLeod to the Huskies line-up for the 2025-26 season.
A 5'5" middle and long distance runner from Dartmouth, N.S., MacLeod competes for Dartmouth High School, Athletics East Track & Field Club, and the Nova Scotia Provincial Team.
MacLeod will compete in both cross country and middle distance track & field events for the Huskies. She was nominee for the Athletics Nova Scotia U18 Athlete of the Year in 2024.
MacLeod finished third in the 800m at the 2024 School Sport Nova Scotia Provincial Meet, and fourth in the 2024 Cross Country Provincials. She was named Dartmouth High's Cross Country Most Valuable Athlete and Track & Field Most Improved Athlete in 2024.
MacLeod also finished fourth place in the 2000m Steeplechase at the 2024 Legion Nationals, and 4th place in the U18 Cross Country meet, and was named Athletics East Most Improved Athlete in 2024.
Frances has family connections to Saint Mary's, as her father Dr. Alexander MacLeod works as a professor in the English Language and Literature Department, and her brother is a current Saint Mary's student.

MacLeod will be pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree at Saint Mary's.
