ST. JOHN'S, NL - The Saint Mary's Huskies defeated the Memorial Sea-Hawks in straight sets (25-17, 25-19, 25-15) in Atlantic University Sport women's volleyball action on Friday night at the Memorial Fieldhouse in St. John's, NL.
The Huskies were led by outside hitter Breanna Golding (Pickering, ON) with 13.5 points, including nine kills, four digs, three aces, and two assists. Left side Emilia Mikanovich (Minsk, Belarus) and right side Sydney Fader (Dartmouth, NS) each added 10.5 points for the Huskies, while setter Grace Blaskovits (Kelowna, BC) dished out 22 assists.
With the win, the Huskies improved to 7-3 on the season, while the Sea-Hawks drop to 6-5. The two teams will run it back in a rematch tomorrow, at 12:30 p.m. AT in St. John's, NL.
