Firth and Freeman named Huskies Athletes of the Week: Sept. 16-22, 2024

Men's soccer midfielder Scott Firth and women's soccer forward Cara Freeman have been named Huskies Athletes of the Week, sponsored by Freeman's Little New York Halifax, for the week ending September 22nd, 2024.

Scott Firth, a third year midfielder from Windsor Junction, NS, is the Huskies male athlete of the week for the week of Sept. 16-22, 2024.

Firth scored two goals and added an assist over a pair of Huskies wins. In Friday night's 4-1 win over the Acadia Axemen, Firth scored a goal and assisted on another. In Saturday's 3-0 win over the Dalhousie Tigers, Firth scored a free-kick goal. He played the full 90 minutes in both Huskies wins.

On the season, Firth is tied for third in the AUS in assists (3) and fifth in points (5). Following a six-point weekend, the Huskies are in first place in the AUS with a 6-2-0 record.

Cara Freeman, a second year forward from Halifax, NS, is the Huskies female athlete of the week for the week of Sept. 16-22, 2024.

Freeman scored two goals and added an assist over a pair of games this weekend. In Friday night's 7-1 loss against the Acadia Axewomen, Freeman scored the Huskies lone goal, led the team with six shots including four shots on goal, and played the full 90 minutes. In Saturday's 3-2 win over the Dalhousie Tigers, Freeman scored the opening goal, assisted on the second goal and helped set up the game-winning goal in the 90th minute – once again she led the Huskies with four shots, including three on goal, and played the full 90 minutes.

On the season, Freeman is tied for fourth in the AUS in goals (4) and points (6).
