Valade and Ganong named Huskies Athletes of the Week: Oct. 14-20, 2024

Men's Hockey forward Reid Valade and Women's Soccer defender Madison Ganong have been named Huskies Athletes of the Week, sponsored by Freeman's Little New York Halifax, for the week ending October 20th, 2024.

Reid Valade / Men's Hockey / Caledon, ON / 2nd year / Commerce

Reid Valade, a second year forward from Caledon, ON, is the Huskies male athlete of the week for the week of Oct. 14-20, 2024.

Valade had two points, including the game-winning goal, in the Huskies 2-1 overtime win over the Moncton Aigles Bleus on Friday. He also assisted on Dennis Busby's second period goal and was named Player of the Game. 

On the season, Valade is tied for second on the Huskies in goals (3) and third in points (6), helping the Huskies to a 4-2-0-0 record to open the season.

Madison Ganong / Women's Soccer / Riverview, NB / 4th year / MBA

Madison Ganong, a fourth year centre back from Riverview, NB, is the Huskies female athlete of the week for the week of Oct. 14-20, 2024.

Ganong played all 90 minutes in the Huskies 2-0 loss to the Cape Breton Capers on Saturday, making several key defensive plays.
