(Halifax, NS)--Two goals each from Alyssa Armstrong and Chelsea Foote helped the U Sports No. 7-ranked CBU Capers defeat the Saint Mary's Huskies 7-0 Saturday afternoon in AUS women's soccer action.
Tamara Brown (Whitby, ON) put the Capers up 1-0 early in the 6th minute before Armstrong (St. John's, NL) added her goals in the 27th and 35th minute.
Ottawa native Chantal Caron added a goal five minutes later and CBU ended the half up 4-0.
Defender Robyn Novorolsky (Richmond Hill, ON) opened the second-half with a goal in the 54th minute for CBU while Foote (Halifax, NS) added late goals in the 75th and 87th minutes.
Rachel Yerxa (5-0-0, Mississauga, Ont.) picked up the Caper win in nets, who improve to 10-0-0.
Rookie goalie Samantha Sarty (0-4-0, New Germany, NS) made five saves and took the Huskies loss in nets and SMU drops to 0-9-0.
Both teams are in action tomorrow October 23rd with the Huskies visiting Dalhousie (2-6-2) and CBU travels to 6-0-3 Acadia.
Kick-off is set for 1pm.
